structuredText

Structured text: spans clustered into lines, lines clustered into blocks. Use this when you need geometry (selection rectangles, search highlights) alongside the text. For a plain string, prefer extractText.

Text in every render mode counts, invisible and outlined text too (ISO 32000-1, 9.3.6, #274). So a label that the page draws twice in one place, as a fake bold that fills and then strokes it does, would read twice. A glyph drawn again within a tenth of an em of the same glyph, at the same size and in the same direction, drops out instead, and the label reads once (#642, #643).
