The support a transient needs to move a picture. Judgement, from development fixtures.

On a synthetic drum loop 18 dB below the reference it keeps 97% of the detections, including hits whose strength is a fifth of what the old fixed strength gate wanted. On a loud noise texture with no drums in it, it refuses about three quarters of them. A soft pad produces no transient detections at all. Held-out scoring is separate.
