The subtitle cues showing right now, in draw order. Empty when none are.

Its own flow rather than a field on state, because it changes on every cue edge, which on a dense track is several times a second: a consumer watching the track list or the status would otherwise be woken at that rate for a value it never reads.

This is what the renderer is drawing, published from the same decision, so the two cannot disagree. It is for an application that wants to draw its own subtitles, read them aloud, log them, or show them somewhere other than over the video.
