ENCODINGS

The encodings encoding accepts, by the names the WHATWG Encoding Standard gives them, in the order a "Text encoding" menu would list them: Unicode, then the single-byte tables by script, then the East Asian ones. They are also every name PlaybackWarning.SubtitleCharsetGuessed can report.

UTF-8, UTF-16LE, UTF-16BE; windows-1252 (Western European), windows-1250 and ISO-8859-2 (Central European), windows-1257 (Baltic), windows-1254 and ISO-8859-9 (Turkish), windows-1258 (Vietnamese), windows-1251 and KOI8-R (Cyrillic), windows-1253 (Greek), windows-1255 (Hebrew), windows-1256 (Arabic), windows-874 (Thai); Shift_JIS and EUC-JP (Japanese), GBK (Simplified Chinese), Big5 (Traditional Chinese) and EUC-KR (Korean).
