Plays a stream. A stream reads forward only, so the player cannot seek in it or switch its video track. Each open reads from the start, so open must return a new stream on every call. The reader closes the stream it got.
A stream read blocks its thread, so stop and close cannot wait for one. When the player gives up on a read, for example at stop, the reader closes the stream, which ends the read for streams that stop reading at close, as sockets and Android pipes do.
