The DEVICE reported that it ran dry, through the sink's own event feed.

A different path from AudioUnderrun: that one is the engine's ring arithmetic on its stats tick, this one is the platform speaking for itself (the feed used to be read and dropped). Warned once per session, because a stuttering device would otherwise bury every other warning a caller is listening for.
